About me…
Growing up in a family with two parents who ran their small businesses, I saw firsthand their difficulties.
My HR career began over 25 years ago after completing a Bachelor of Business with a major in Human Resources. I worked for large companies and gained experience across various industries, including IT, building and construction, oil and gas and automotive.
One of my most rewarding roles was as HR Manager for a business with fewer than 50 employees. In this role, I worked with the leadership team to build a solid foundation for the management and engagement of their employees.
So, when I decided to start my own business in 2013, I focused on bringing my HR experience to small businesses that do not have in-house HR support but still have the same issues to face around managing their people.
What I love about my job…
Over the last eleven years, I have been privileged to work with hundreds of businesses across the country. I love that we help them gain peace of mind, knowing that they are meeting their HR obligations, finding the right staff, or supporting them through stressful employee situations.
What I love most is the fantastic team of HR professionals who have joined me on the Strawberry Seed journey. As any small business owner knows, it can be daunting to bring in others to work with your clients. Each and every member of the Strawberry Seed team is a true asset to their profession and our brand. I unequivocally could not do this without them.
When I’m not at work…
I’m a mum of three, with only one teenager left. They are all pursuing their post-high school paths now. I don’t believe in ‘work-life balance’. Ultimately, it is all just ‘life’ when you are juggling a business with family activities.
As a family, we are involved in our local Torquay community with the Torquay Football Club and Jan Juc SLSC, and I hope my beloved Brisbane Lions will take the next step this season.
I love coffee, wine, 80’s music, true crime podcasts, reading and making the most of the Surfcoast lifestyle, and walking our dogs to the beach to have breakfast by the water with my husband on the weekend.
