The Role

The purpose of the Customer Service Specialist is to deliver high-class frontline customer service interactions and operations, engaging with their clients across a number of platforms: phone, email, social media enquiries & onsite salon. The Customer Service Specialist will proactively reach out to customers who have recently visited the salon, received their order, and engage to obtain feedback around their end to end experience.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Represent the salon as the first point of contact, greeting client owners and pups at reception and answering all incoming calls and making client bookings;
  • Provide administrative support to the Manager, such as managing emails, preparation of documents and correspondence, managing stationery and supplies, photocopying, binding of documents and running errands as required;
  • Liaise with clients to assist with completion of any documentation for client pups, booking appointments, and assisting with enquiries;
  • Update and maintain client files including preparing new files, scanning of documents, the filing of electronic and hard copy documents and archiving closed files;
  • Process all client payments, deposits, and on order fulfilments;
  • Monitor and order salon retail stock, salon equipment and supplies as required;
  • Assist with social media marketing and monitoring of events, promotions, and engagement & queries;
  • Prepare and send e-newsletter and bulk email campaigns through Mailchimp.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have exceptional customer service, active listening skills and well developed verbal and written communication skills, together with a professional phone voice, ensuring you maintain a professional presence with their clients. Ideally, you will have a personal interest in animals, grooming and pet maintenance, allowing your passion for animals to shine through your role.

You will possess highly developed verbal and written communication skills and have a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. You will be excellent at problem-solving and attention to detail. You can easily manage yourself and your work in a systematic, accurate and timely manner.

You have information technology skills regarding proficient use of major programmes and packages (ie. Word, Excel, Email). Experience using social media platforms and MailChimp would be highly regarded.

The Musts:

  • Previous experience in a Customer Service or related position
  • Experience in a high volume retail or salon environment

This is a Casual Role with an opportunity to grow into a Part Time/Full Time position. Currently, the role will be 5 hours a shift from 9am – 2pm Monday – Friday. 15 – 25 hours per week.
