Conflux Technology is entering an exciting growth phase and have an opportunity for a Simulations Engineer to join their growing team!

About the Role

Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, the Simulations Engineer will perform a variety of calculations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software. This position involves the simulation of fluid flow and heat transfer in heat exchangers that are manufactured using metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology.

This is both an internal and customer facing role that will require concise and clear communications at all levels.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Perform simulations in support of heat exchanger design and development
  • Generation and application of CFD and FEA methods to provide performance information, and to improve Conflux designs
  • Provision of design guidance and performance information to Conflux, directly supporting the development of Conflux designs
  • Development of calorimetry test and liaising with external test facility
  • Correlation of CFD model and experimental results
  • Project Reporting to both internal and external stakeholders (eg: suppliers and customers)
  • Perform other duties, relevant to the position, as may be necessary.

This is a Full Time position with remuneration commensurate with your qualifications, skills and experience. Some work outside of standard hours will be required due to the nature of additive manufacturing.

About You

You will be an experienced Simulations Engineer with a strong client focus and able to hit the ground running. Ideally, they are seeking candidates who have experience working in an advanced manufacturing environment or Additive Manufacturing experience.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in CFD simulation, particularly related to fluid flow and heat transfer
  • Experience managing simulation projects from concept through to final analysis, including timelines and deliverables.
  • Understanding of materials properties, metallurgy, and mechanical testing
  • Experience working with heat exchangers and/or metal Additive Manufacturing technologies is highly desirable.
  • Experience in industries such as aerospace, automotive, energy, or manufacturing where heat transfer and fluid dynamics are critical to product performance.
  • Working knowledge of ANSYS software & MS Office

Location

Conflux Technology is situated on the Deakin University site in Waurn Ponds, Geelong. Conflux operates on a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times. Due to the nature of additive manufacturing some work outside standard hours will be required from time to time.
