About me…
I am a Geelong/Surfcoast woman who is driven to constantly learn, step out of my comfort zone, and evolve personally and professionally. I have worked in human resources for over 21 years nationally and internationally, supporting business owners, CEOs, directors, managers, and employees across various industries. I commenced my HR career in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 2001, where I was fortunate to work on the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s civilian recruitment campaign, which was introduced as part of the Good Friday Peace Agreement. This has led me down the path of working as both an internal HR practitioner and supporting and consulting with external clients, all with various levels of sophistication, employee numbers, and unique challenges. I am humbled to join the team here at Strawberry Seed Consulting and look forward to supporting our current and new clients.
What I love about my job…
HR is all about people in business; people in your business are the foundation and most valuable asset. HR is a critical component in aligning business objectives with the culture and performance of your people. At my core, I am passionate about helping businesses and managers foster an environment that enables everyone to reach their full potential. HR support and presence will help shape people’s environment, culture, and connection to your business throughout their employee life cycle and employment with you. Whether navigating complex HR challenges, supporting your journey as a growing business, or mentoring future managers and leaders, I love creating value through HR initiatives and people.
When I’m not at work…
I am the wife of a builder and the mum of 3 awesome children, and a foster son (ages 28 to 10). I have my hands full!
As a family, we are all pretty active, with various extracurricular activities (golf, gym, Jui Jitsu, gymnastics, surfing) within our local community.
I am the family’s social butterfly and keep us busy with various outings and social events. I like a champagne and a G&T, I look forward to our Sunday night family dinners and l get super excited about most live music events. Live music highlights have included Pearl Jam (the Pixies were amazing), Nothing but Thieves, Fred Again, the Descendents and G Flip at the Torquay Hotel. Seeing Nirvana in St Kilda at age 16 was pretty memorable!
I have done a few years of a carpentry apprenticeship with my hubby and eldest son and will get back on the tools as and when needed to help out, which I love.
